Behavior worked with HBO to create the Game of Thrones Viewer's Guide as an online companion to the new HBO series based on the epic fantasy novels of George R.R. Martin. Running parallel with HBO’s extensive marketing efforts for the series, the goal of this cross-platform project was to orient new fans and satisfy longstanding Martin devotees with a spoiler-free experience.

The Viewer’s Guide serves as the ultimate online reference to the series, allowing users to toggle between an elaborate yet easy to use interactive map and a guide to the houses. It’s a handy and entertaining tool that can be easily accessed on a desktop browser or a tablet device. The guide includes an extensive amount of exclusive content related to the characters, plotlines and locations in the series. Content is strategically tied to the relevant points of each episode and deep-links encourage fans to share their enthusiasm by giving them the ability to like and tweet every page and screen state.

HBO and Behavior team up to produce the web presence for their new documentary series, The Alzheimer's Project. The series is a partnership between HBO, the National Institute on Aging of the National Institutes of Health in association with the Alzheimer's Association, Fidelity Charitable Gift Fund, and Geoffrey Beene Gives Back Alzheimer's Initiative. The emotional documentary series is aimed to educate the public about the second most feared disease in the United States, Alzheimer's Disease.

HBO and Behavior closely collaborated to design an interactive experience that offers a holistic view of the disease and the science of hope. The main films act as a gateway to a library of supplementary and glossary films that give specific insight into the core topics surrounding the disease. Users are encouraged to explore the content and are contextually linked to relevant and important resources and organizations.

Behavior is proud to collaborate with HBO and their partners on this important and touching project.

Behavior created the online interactive experience for HBO's series True Blood, by acclaimed writer, director, and executive producer Alan Ball. The True Blood website is an innovative focal point, rooted in the story and characters of the series.

The site uses True Blood’s week-by-week storyline as the primary means of navigation. Every week, a new home page is presented, reflecting the current installment of the plot and inspiring viewers to dig deeper by watching additional videos.

Behavior was retained by National Geographic Channel (NGC), a popular television channel featuring non-fiction programming, to redesign and reimagine an online companion for their highly-acclaimed original shows.

Behavior drove the project with two core objectives: first, motivate viewer “tune-in” and second, cultivate fan enthusiasm. Through this framework we produced the industry's most innovative TV schedule. Instead of simply displaying a boring table with static text, Behavior created an interactive, pictorial module that allows users to drag and slide through four weeks of scheduling.

The new site showcases every NGC program within its own mini-site, allowing fans to explore their favorite shows on a more intimate level. Each show’s site integrates hundreds of videos, photos and interactive features, using cutting edge browser technology to create a seamless user-experience without sacrificing valuable search engine optimization.

Behavior received a Gold Davey Award and a Silver Horizon Interactive Award for the redesign of National Geographic Channel.

Behavior Design launched the online companion to HBO’s epic 7-part miniseries event, John Adams.

We created an immersive interactive experience layered with rich content, including exclusive behind-the-scenes interviews with the series creators David McCullough (American Historian & Author), Tom Hooper (Director), and Paul Giamatti (John Adams).

The site is organized to correspond directly with each of the seven parts of the miniseries. Visitors can explore related content, including: recap videos, interactive behind-the-scenes features, and a timeline of key historical events relevant to the era. Loaded with “intellectually curious” content, we sought to strengthen Livescience.com by incorporating interactive, community building features, such as: videos, blogs, and a social networking framework. We then integrated an improved, page-level, information architecture to expose the most relevant content in a cleaner, more elegant aesthetic.

The Onion, America’s most popular humor publication, turned to Behavior Design to facilitate a complete redesign of its popular Web site.

In an effort to boost online readership and unveil a decade’s worth of archived articles, the user interface was revamped to present a more dynamic and content-rich experience. This included reorganizing hundreds of article to create an intuitive, highly scalable navigational hierarchy.

With over forty unique templates - based on a tight, but flexible grid structure - we were able to provide a clear and logical basis for the layout of The Onion’s content and advertising. The site includes extensive use of XHTML and CSS for a modular, semantically correct separation of form and content.

We also completed a full redesign of The Onion's popular "non-fiction" companion magazine, The AV Club.

Behavior was retained by SIRIUS to design and develop 3 micro sites for OEM partner DaimlerChrysler AG. The purpose of the sites is to engage users with the SIRIUS brand and for new car owners to activate SIRIUS Satellite Radio.

Behavior’s creative approach included a co-branded solution that could be customized to meet each OEM partner’s unique brand, relevant target audience, and communications. The three micro sites used a shared layout/architecture, were hosted by SIRIUS, and linked directly from the jeep.com, chrysler.com and dodge.com sites.

Rome, HBO's decadent original series directed by Bruno Heller, describes the life of the Roman Empire's extravagantly wealthy contrasted with the crumbling foundations of a city rife with corruption and excess.
The online feature highlights this unique production's consideration and treatment of the moral, political, and urban ways of life of the ancient Republic, while revealing the huge production undertaking involving extensive historical research and elaborate costume and set design.

We collaborated with HBO to create an original, media-rich narrative around six themes that run through the series, focusing on Roman city life, power and politics, superstition and morality, war, money and class, and sex. Each theme is explored through a Flash-based interface which examines the historical context of a theme, how the theme connects with the creative vision of the series, and how that vision is translated into the production.
