Behind the Scenes: HBO’s Rome

The development of Rome, the original series co-produced by HBO and the BBC, was a huge undertaking that involved extensive historical research and elaborate costume and set design.

HBO chose Behavior to develop Rome: Behind The Scenes, a Flash-based site that looks at the inspiration for the show and the detail that went into the production. We created a narrative based around six threads that run through the series: city life, power and politics, superstition and morality, war, money and class, and sex.
Animated drawings and sketches narrated by interviews with key crew members tell the story behind the inspiration for Rome. We rolled the site rolled out in two phases, creating excitement around the show and encouraging fans to come back for more.
