Big Picture Learning is a worldwide not-for-profit network that generates and sustains innovative, personalized schools that work in tandem with local communities to pioneer education. BigPicture.org allows participating schools to share, communicate, raise funds and awareness, and locate new areas in which they can be effective.
The Big Picture leadership team came to Behavior with growing pains: they were producing lots of great content and new ideas, overflowing their site’s architecture. By working on cost-effective solutions for content management and effective communication, we found the right means to help Big Picture take the next steps. As part of the revitalization, we worked with Big Picture’s fresh rebranding, created by legendary graphic designer Milton Glaser.
Through the development of highly customized, open-source content management solutions, we created an easy-to-use WordPress system that allows for easy maintenance and sophisticated display. The Big Picture team can now fluently present exciting new projects, podcasts, and video content with aplomb. Reworking the user experience helped focus content for students and parents, educators, policy makers, and everyone interested in learning more.
As a non-profit entity, Big Picture has an obvious need to target and inspire new donors to the cause. Behavior helped shape call-to-action strategies, and leveraged proven solutions like PayPal to ensure that contributions are a snap. We also developed engaging interactive modules to literally help put Big Picture on the map, and help visitors find profiles of alternative schools in their area.
