The Onion, America’s most popular humor publication, turned to Behavior Design to facilitate a complete redesign of its popular Web site.
In an effort to boost online readership and unveil a decade’s worth of archived articles, the user interface was revamped to present a more dynamic and content-rich experience. This included reorganizing hundreds of article to create an intuitive, highly scalable navigational hierarchy.
With over forty unique templates - based on a tight, but flexible grid structure - we were able to provide a clear and logical basis for the layout of The Onion’s content and advertising. The site includes extensive use of XHTML and CSS for a modular, semantically correct separation of form and content.
We also completed a full redesign of The Onion’s popular "non-fiction" companion magazine, The AV Club.
